The U.S. News and World Report ranks UF 49 and LSU tied for 130. They also rank 10 of the S.E.C. institutions in what they call the top tier of colleges with LSU being 10th. MSU and Ole Miss are in the second tier which is certainly no disgrace. There are currently 2618 accredited colleges and universities in the USA. Therfore, 49 and 130 are both relatively high scores IMHO.
