Congratz. I played the ME in 07 and 08. Still on the fence if I am going to play this year. I didn't cash in either year but ran into some bad luck in both. It is litterally the most fun thing I have ever done. The entire experience is incredible. Have fun.

yea. the structure is unreal. i was looking over the sheet last night. super deep structure. patience will be a virtue. i just bought a new set of headphones. I think me and the headphones will become very close. My online backer played in it last year and came out 56th. he said its the most grueling shite he ever did. 14 hours of poker a day for hopefully 8 days.

I was knocked out late day 2 last year and with 5 min to go in day 1 in 07. Wouldn't trade either experience for anything but it is tough. i've played countless tournaments where days went 12 hours but this one takes that to a whole new level. You get a lot of breaks so it isn't to bad. The best advice I could give besides staying patient is take advantage of Day 1 as best you can. Do not give the players at your table to much credit cause the last two years i've played the guys at my table on day 1 were the worst players I have ever played with in my life. It is unrealy how some of these guys are actually sitting at a 10k buy in tournament. Take it all in and have fun. Try not to put to much pressure on yourself would be the other thing I would say. My first year, 07, I couldn't get to sleep till 6 a.m. because of excitement and paid for it the next day. I had about 4 of those 5 hour energy shots and 2 red bulls and litterally thought I was having a heart attack right before dinner break. Gl again, hopefully i'll be making a trip out there again if things work out.

I will definitely do this one day. I have a group of friends that I play a lot of poker with. We are all very experienced at this point. I'm 100% sure that if all 8 of us played in one Main Event, that at least 1 of us would make it to the money.

ETA: Just out of curiosity, how do you sign up for the Main Event? Satellite events the way to go?

I would recommend satelitting into it. You can buy in for it now for the full 10k though. All of the poker sites have tons of different ways to satellite into it. Some sites even have freerolls to get in I think you have to win 2 or 3 in a row though. Poker Stars has a 200 something dollar double shootout if you win both tables you are in. I made it to the 2nd table in the only one I ever tried and ran into a cooler.

I think I am going to wait until next year to try to get into the main event, I may try some small satellite soon though.
