Thought he was the no. 1 QB. No. 8 we don't accept. No. 1 or hit the bricks.

We'll end up with Munchie, Broadway or nobody at Qb in this class. We're probably good with what we have. Garrett will redshirt.

Yeah, I think our chances at Zach Lee are pretty good. It really all depends about how the cards fall, but I think we will end up with Lee. We have to see how the camps turn out though....

How good is Zach Lee? I admitedly don't know much about him (obviously).

Oh, and we're not getting Heaps. Not even close.

Lee is ranked as the 9th best passing QB in the country by Rivals. He's probably one of the best uncommitted QBs left other than Heaps (committing tomorrow), Scroggins, and Nick Montana, who is probably a little overrated because of his father.

I really don't agree with that. The kid looks really good, regardless of who his father is. I do think he's over hyped because of that, but that is not the reason that he's overrated.

The thing about a kid in Nick Montana's situation is that he's always been given the best tools to excel, which is a good thing. However, the downside of that is that kids that have always had an excellent weight program, position coach/mentor, etc. is that they are a lot closer to their potential than a kid from a poor family and a poor school that couldn't give him the kind of benefits that some other kids have.

When those underprivileged kids get on Moffit's workout program, get the guidance on technique that they never had, and all of the other advantages that big time programs offer, they blow up. They are stronger, their form gets much better, and their overall performance improves.

Basically, over privileged prospects are much closer to their potential than kids who just so happen to be awesome athletes that are great at their position.

At least that's the way I see it, but then again, there's a reason that I post on this message board for free instead of getting paid to write articles.

Top prep QB Jake Heaps headed to BYU

Washington prep star Jake Heaps, who is rated by some recruiting Web sites as the No. 1 quarterback prospect in the country, has chosen BYU and will make the announcement Thursday afternoon, The Salt Lake Tribune has learned.
A news release issued by a publicist on Wednesday noted that Heaps has made his college decision and will announce it Thursday, although the time and place was not finalized. A source said it would take place in Provo, possibly at a location near LaVell Edwards Stadium.
"Heaps anticipates releasing more information regarding time and place as it becomes available," said the release.
Heaps, who is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, has been scheduled for months to attend BYU's annual Junior Day, which is Friday in Provo.
According to the release, Heaps had offers from 26 programs as of June 1. He recently narrowed his list of favorites to BYU, Washington, LSU, California and Tennessee.
BYU and Washington have been considered the front-runners for the past few weeks.
Heaps is 28-0 as a starter for Skyline High in Sammamish, Wash., leading his team to state championships as a sophomore and a junior.
