UGA
Ohio State
Stanford
Notre Dame
LSU
Alabama
Washington

The top 4 schools are on the inside track, IOW UGA, OSU, SU, and ND are his 4 favorite.

Why would UGA be on the inside track? He wants to come in on the heels of Mettenberger and Murray? So he's an idiot then.

Yeah not an indictment against your post, just an observation. Seems strange that he wouldn't be more knowledgeable of the depth chart IMO. Washington makes a lot of sense from my perspective.

Comprehension fail. He said he has narrowed it down to 7, with 5 of those teams being listed as "favorites". Doesn't mean the others have been ruled out of contention. Check that, four. fail for me too.

I wouldn't be surprised to see him end up at Stanford.

Andrew Luck is going to be a possible starter over there and even though Montana has said that he doesn't mind waiting a bit he could be waiting a long time with Luck over there.

Still think Washington makes a lot of sense. Sarkisian is good with quarterbacks and he'll have a chance to see the field very soon.

Oh I think Luck will play soon and be a good QB. But I also think Montana won't mind waiting until his junior year to take the reins. Montana's dad (I think he was a QB too) said he would like him to be in a situation where he could prepare. Practicing under Harbaugh while watching and learning from Luck could be such a situation for him.

Maybe so. I do remember reading somewhere that playing immediately wasn't necessarily what they were basing their decision on but the easiest way to improve as a quarterback is to play, but I do understand if he doesn't want to step in as a frosh and recreate his dad's legacy. I think any success at Stanford for Harbaugh will get him an NFL gig or a better college gig, and while that could be true for Sarkisian, he hasn't even coached a game yet and the Washington stuff is going to take some time.
