Lester Earl is right up there.
Honoroable mention to Kendrick Allen, who was supposed to be the next Reggie White.

If Brian West would've played football straight out of high school instead of going to the White Sox he would've been a beast. Can't fault the guy though.
Perriloux is by far the biggest bust. I'm sure McConathy will be listed as well.

Played from '97-'00. Wore #54. Big, big DT/DE who never became great. He was very disappointing, even though he was never awful.

Yes he will...along with Brad Smalling. Everyone in town was creaming their pants because these 2 West Monroe studs were coming to Baton Rouge to rescue the program. Neither amounted to shite, and McConathy was a little bitch.
Also, Doug Planchard makes the list...just for the hell of it.

Josh Booty did start and make the All SEC team. Hardly a bust. In recent memory, RP and Amp Hill come to mind. Robert Davis would qualify as well.

McConathy was all everything. He won ridiculous awards at WM. Did he even make it to the season before transferring to Texas? I can't remember all of the details.

Correct if im wrong but any guy that helps launch us into National Championship game like Perriloux did i would not call a bust.. Italking about guys coming out of High School F'N studs and never make the field on a consistant basis...

Shows called out Smalling what seemed almost daily while at WM btw. Brad's a great guy, just didn't work out at LSU.

Perriloux was the #1 player in the nation. Yes, he was a HUGE bust.

A lot of this "bust" stuff isn't always the kid's fault...it is a product of fans and media building a kid up too much.
The talk shows, etc. built those 2 kids up to be the 2nd coming.
Typical call to a BR call-in show right after these guys signed:
"Hi, um, will you talk about Adam McConathy and Brad Smalling? I'll jack-off and listen"
