You need to have video output on either your card or motherboard. You can't just plug into a USB port and hook the other end to a TV.

You will have to switch the screen inputs. There should be a control or monitor key function on the keyboard that will allow it to flip between the laptop screen and the tv. On most laptops its on the fuction keys in purple or whatever. So you will have to use the function key. That should work.
ETA: Also make sure the tv is on the right input, probably RGA.

I have mine connected through a S video cable from the back of the laptop to the tv and then one of the AV channels picks up the direct feed from my comp to the screen .... some laptops do not have the S video port though ... the S video cable is pretty cheap if you can find one

I have mine VGA on my computer out to the VGA on my tv. You have to change the input on your tv to PC and you should get a picture. Getting the audio you need to have an audio cable from your PC to your Tv and just turn your tv speakers off. It's not that difficult once you realize what you have to do.

if you have a newer computer, it has an HDMI output.
Thats what I use and the picture quality is great.

search Display Options on your computer, but I did this yesterday and I had to shut down my computer, plug in the DVI cable, then restart it. after that it worked.

I wonder if a PS3 internet connection would work?

I used the s-video cable last night (and for the SEC tourney). You have to toggle between monitor inputs. Also, if you make sure the resolution you choose fits your TV, it won't be blurry at all, so ignore the earlier poster that said it would be blurry.

Not sure because I have an iMac but I don't think you can use USB to TV from Computer... unless have a usb video adapter. And if you do have one I think you have to a software to make it work...
This is why I love my Apple all the drivers needed to make it work is already in the computer...
Not sure what type of computer you have but if you have an Apple computer all you need is a "mini DVI Video Adapter" and a RCA or S-Video extension cable.
VGA to video input
mini DVI to video input

There's several ways to do it. Here they are in order of quality. Choose the best one that your TV and computer both have. Use google if you don't know what these look like.
[1] HDMI... (USB-sized flat trapezoid)
[2] DVI... (big, usually white)
[3] VGA... (standard monitor cable. big, blue.)
[4] S-Video... (round, I forget what color)
HDMI is the best because all you have to do is plug it in and Vista does everything automatically, turning your TV into an extended desktop. Sound comes out of it too.
