If you heard Finebaum today you also heard Cecil Hurt. You could tell from Cecil's tone that he thinks the NCAA may come down harder on Bama then most originally thought. He said the fact this happened while Bama was still on probation is the major sticking point.

The next caller after Finebaum was a guy who said he had a friend who worked for the NCAA. He's hearing 3 loss scholarships for the next 3 years.............a total of 9. But hey that's just rumor. Who knows? Cecil said he expects to hear word from the NCAA mext week.

I wonder how big of a meltdown this board would experience if our football program didn't receive any more punishment (not saying this is going to happen)... Me thinks it would be epic.

Really...his tone?

Here, go post this somewhere. I have a friend who works for the NCAA and he tells me 45 lost scholarships and all players on the team are to be castrated.
You guys are so funny.

if its a total of 9 and nothing else for football, then I see Alabama accepting this. If probation is in addition to the scholarship loss, I can see UA appealing.
For once, the compliance dept is fighting tooth and nail with the NCAA over the textbook issue with UA citing it as an institutional issue and NOT a NCAA issue.
I guess we shall see next tuesday what the penalties will be. Hopefully the bi-polar NCAA committee members will havce taken their meds when handing down the penalties.
