I've seen him play several times. He's a solid running back. He played hurt during the playoffs.

Parker has impressive size and good acceleration coveted in a carry-the-load type running back prospect. May need to be fed the ball often to take advantage of his physical tools and skill-set but really is a nice package for a pro-style offense and a team that puts an emphasis on downhill, power schemes. Tall with a longer, stronger frame that looks to have a ton of physical development left. Could potentially check in at the 225-pound range once he enters a fulltime college weight-training program. Hits the hole quickly and wastes no time squaring up and accelerating through the first north-south seam he sees. An ideal one-cut-and-go runner. Flashes a bit of wiggle and lateral foot-quickness sidestepping the initial traffic but his production stems off getting downhill. Not initial very quick and lacks great burst out of his cuts but has a good second gear and flashes some explosiveness through the second level. Can run high at times hindering balance but for the most part he knows when to lower the shoulder. Breaks a lot of initial contact with his combination of size and speed. Very physical and looks to finish each run. Has a good nose for finding the end zone and can fight for extra yards. He will surprise you with his top-end speed when he breaks free down the sideline. Tends to build speed but can break away once he gets his long frame going. However, he is not real elusive and his production will strictly come from his downhill power. We have concerns about his longer frame and tendency to run high. Durability could be an issue. Gets tripped up a lot on lower-body tackles. May struggle to adjust to the increased speed on defense; does not see or hit the cutback creases quickly. That said, Parker gets stronger as the game goes on and will need high-carries to be most productive. A guy who could really wear down a defense if he can stay healthy. Frame and range to potentially play linebacker.

FWIW...Just called a buddy of mine in Tupelo, big OM fan, he said the kid is for real. Has watched him several times and hopes he is a Rebel next year. His comparison to an LSU player would be Rondel Mealy, runs high and once he breaks the line can go the distance.

Just sayin..

i know nobody's going agree with me but this guy's running style reminds me of a young Deuce McCallister.....they both have similar size and that second gear that allows them to run away from defensive backs...

This was another comparison my friend made. He watched both and said that other than he thought Deuce was tougher they were both similar in running style.

If true, Ill take him in a minute!!

Deuce McCallister

That's a fair comparison vs Deuce during his junior year in HS. Of course Deuce blossomed nicely. He reminds me more of Dominick Davis. Powerful runner (not as powerful as Deuce) with speed and a little more wiggle than Deuce. He had a severely sprained ankle for the 5A championship game vs. Meridian and still carried the ball 35-40 times. Tough kid.
