I wonder what the purpose of the RPI's when all they have to do is ask you. Looks like a waste of time compiling such numbers.

have you always been an arrogant prick?

If we win a power conference, we should get a national seed. That's all he was saying but I guess you're too big of a douche bag to understand logic. They do look at things other than RPI, and LSU has the new stadium and tradition factor going for them.

+1

I think that in the end even if we were 2 or 3 spots out of the top 8, we would still get a home super regional, for the same reason the committees award No. 2 seeds home field for regionals... Because in the end, money talks, and a super at the New Alex Box would bring capacity crowds and a whole lotta $$$

You are right, if we win the SEC outright we should get one. This is not a year where the SEC will get two national seeds in my opinion based on the pseudo RPI's. Two will go to the state of Texas, two to the ACC, two to the left coast, which leaves 2 spots. If Fla wins the SEC then they get the seed along with probably Miami.

The reason the RPI ratings that we have available are fouled is that the numbers that the selection team uses to select the bracket and seeds are not made public. There are a few people who think they know the system that try to duplicate those rankings for the benefit of us to argue over, i.e.'s Boyds website and Warren Nolan.

The selection team will use their formula's to select a defendable bracket(s) and not publish their numbers so that they don't get beat up after the fact with their own data, hence their we'll never know thier exact data that they use.

They do not use strictly those RPI's as you said but waver from them only to add some geograhical balance to a what is called a "national" tournament.

No longer is money the biggest consideration as it was in the old days and newer stadium are nice but not a big factor either as many places are beginning to have nice facilities especially in the south and southwest. How else do you justify playing anything at any of the Sou. California teams places. They are so small and do not draw but yet they still get seeds so you can toss out the money as a over riding motivator for the NCAA.

My comment related to the fact that at present we are way down the list on either of the two simualted ratins listed above and will not be able to slip on a banana peel down the stretch and expect to recover.

Fla. Versus LSU this weekend is huge!! Their is not much room for error because as said before I beleive the SEC gets only one national seed this year. Presently we are in a three way tie for the SEC lead and we are third out of those three in the pseudo RPI rankings.
