We're planning to go to the CWS for the first time this year if the Tigers get in. Do any of you have recommendations on good places to stay while there?

I've made the trip 5 times and every time I've gone, we stayed across the river in Council Bluffs, Iowa. The first 2 times because we put the trip together at the last minute and that's all we could get and the last 3 times I had a motor home so we parked at the casino. I've had some friends stay closer to the stadium... Some liked it and some didn't.

Went to Omaha last year, definitely stay in the downtown area. It had the most stuff to do on your down time without having to take cabs everywhere if you flew down there.

Thanks everybody. Old Iowa Tiger - do you have a house to rent?

Avoid the "Clarino" hotel at all costs.

I've been twice. First time, we stayed at the Hilton across from the Qwest Center. Normally, one of the teams stay there. It was downtown, but downtown has a lot of restaurants and is a great place to stay. Last year, we stayed at the Hampton Inn and Suites Hotel about 2 blocks from the Hilton. It was brand new last year and it will be right next to where the new stadium will be located when it moves downtown next year. Most hotels say they don't have rooms right now (if you check online), but my experience is that if you check about a week before you go, you will find rooms if you call the hotel front desk directly. Both times we drove and found a hotel room on the road right before we got to town. Expect to pay $150 - $175 per night for these hotels. I'm sure there are other cheaper hotels, but the locations may not be as great. I know there is also an Embassy Suites hotel that is downtown as well and the LSU team has stayed there in the past. If you can afford it, I would definitely recommend staying downtown. It is about a 3-5 mile drive to the ballpark from downtown. Have fun. If LSU, Baylor or UT go this year, I will be there again. It is a blast.

unfortunately no but my family is from 30 minutes outside of omaha so that's where my wife, myself, and some of my friends will be!

If you have kids and don't mind spending the money, there is a Holiday Inn with an indoor water park. Great for non-tiger game days. We stayed there for the second half of our week in Omaha last year.
