Computer Question

I've been having problems with my laptop lately. It has been all sudden becoming very slow and unresponsive to the point where I need to do a complete system recovery. I think I am on my 3rd system recovery right now. Each time it worked fine for about 3 or 4 weeks after the system recovery, but then started exhiibiting similar problems as before and eventually leading to me needing to wipe it clean again just to get it to startup properly.
I don't suppose defragmenting the hard drive would be doing anything at this point. I assume with a system recovery the hard drive is wiped completely clean, thus a performing a defrag so soon as returning to factory setting would be moot at this point???
Any help is greatly appreciated!

Stop downloading porn and/or quit using any and all peer to peer file sharing programs.

If your having trouble with it, this soon after a recovery I would just replace the hard drive and then reinstall everything.
It sound like you HD is just going bad.

FINALLYFAST.COM
my computer used to be fast, but now it's only kind of fast.
i've heard this works great. but when i had this problem on my desktop computer i just reinstalled the operating system after backing up any files that are not corrupted. i would just scan all my music, videos, pictures, etc... and the ones not corrupted i would just back up on my external. hope it works out for you man

how old is it? what do you have as far as RAM?
I'd replace the HD with a 7200rpm one and partition it with 2-3 drives.
The laptop computer is about a year and half old. The RAM is 2038 MB.
How much would it cost to do what you are suggesting with the hard drive?

If you have a SATA disk it will be cheap - say $30-50 for an 80GB.
Just reinstall everything from your system disks. (or is it disc, I forget) Get a $20 USB key for your data, which you need to do ASAP - you're probably soon to lose everything.

What would partitioning a single hard drive in 3 partitions accomplish?
Especially an 80gb HD?
