Is it possible to have surgery on your pride?

its a less invasive 'hybrid' type surgery. he'll still need offseason surgery...which is why I'm asking why he's even having this one if he was told he could probably go through this season without having surgery at all in the first place...

I read that if he opted to not do anything now he would increase his chances of worsening the damage.

How much are you worth healthy? If he plays hurt and under perfoms, or gets hurt worse, the media will rip his arse. At least he was more of a man than Bonds and Clemens and admitted what he did.

Didn't Giambi have something come up that put him on the DL around the time his name came up with steroids? It is the Yankee smoke screen.

One of the reasons I think Texiera is so overrated is because he doesn't show up until mid May. If he continues that trend--and New York is colder than Arlington and Atlanta, the Yankees might have real trouble scoring runs the first part of the season. Their lineup w/o A-Rod is not that scary. In a really good division, they could dig themselves into a hole they might not be able to get out of.

Think he'll let me do the surgery? If so, I can guarantee you he'll miss more than 7-9 weeks.

Brian Bowman is playing for the Cajuns with a torn labrum. A-Rod is a pussy.

Better pitching staff this year than the last 5-6 that alone should keep them close. If things hold true pitching seems to be ahead of hitting coming out of spring training. I think the key is Jorge and Matsui, if (big if) they come back healthy, swinging a good bat then the Yankees will be fine. If more injuries pile up the Arod absence will be multiplied.

Well played.

I thought a labrum was a chest muscle but apparently they can be in the hip too.

With the pitching staff the Yankees have we should not need to score 6 runs a game to win and should be able to get by without A-Rod for a month or so.

If the Yankees go out now and make a trade for 3B to hold down the position until A-Rod returns in May, then they should focus on getting someone who serviceable at multiple positions. This way, when A-Rod comes back you dont have this new player wasting away on the bench and he will continue to be an option for Girardi at different positions on the field and different places in the lineup.
