Why is it that the same BCS bowls draw from the same two conferences every year? I think it would be better if it rotated around to give the fans different destinations to head over the holidays. Ok I will hang up and listen.
ETA: Ok i figured people would know i meant BCS games. My bad on that one... fixed

So you mean to tell me that if the BCS decided that the SEC Champion were to play the PAC-10 Champ in the Orange Bowl one year and then the SEC Champ would play the Big 12 champ in the rose the next they would lose money??? Absolutely not!

So, many people would come from Pac-10 country to SEC country to watch the Sugar Bowl and vice versa?

Tradition and travel. Most bowls sites are close to the tie-ins. For instance, SEC tie-ins are the Sugar, Cotton, Independence, Music City, Capital One, Peach Papa Johns.com and one other I think. The location for fans is more convienient which ensures good turn outs and...more money.

Maybe for a BCS game. But would many people come to Birmingham for a UCLA-Minnesota game?

I understand there are contracts... but contracts expire and are renegotiated. So you mean to tell me that you clowns prefer going to the same possible locations every year?

The lower tier bowls try to get teams that won't have to travel too far so they can sell as many tickets as possible, if Oregon State was selected for the MagicJack St. Petersberg Bowl (yes, that's a real game) they wouldn't get as many fans in the seats like they would if they selected South Florida. The bigger non-BCS bowl games are rooted in traditional conference alliance and don't want to have to find a new partner, plus with the economy, they might lose money with a new conference. The Rose Bowl just refuses to change, all the other BCS bowls will take an independant/ BCS buster

The SEC Champion, when available, plays in the Sugar Bowl. That's kind of the entire point of having the Sugar Bowl. I don't see what your misunderstanding is.
