It depends on the terrain and what you are planning to hunt and how. If you are hunting from a stand, 40 is plenty. What you might want to look at is find out who owns the land around where you are looking and see if you can lease it from them to expand your hunting area if you want to do more than hunt in one or two areas from a stand.

That's some good hunting land in that area. We have a large set of acreage between there and Liberty and another large area in Centerville. Not a bad drive from BR, just enough to get away. I need to get my happy arse out of Houston and back over there sometime soon.
Vine's in Centerville is the place to go to get deer processed...and the buffet on Saturday is pretty great too.
