I'm trying to get started buying some stock, but I'm completely new to this. To be honest I don't really know how. I've seen all the commercials for trading companies, but it seems like you need to be messing with a lot of money to use them. I looking for investing 100's not 1000's. Any help would be much appreciated. What company, and how?

Scottrade, Firstrade are both good. But you don't need to be putting a dime in stocks right now.

We've got a family broker... you have to invest a Min of $500.... I've never dealt with online trading, so sadly I cannot help... But I am really considering buying about buying $1000-$1500 GM stock for $1.50 a share

TD Ameritrade has a deal where you can trade for free for 30 days if you deposit 2k, if not I would find an online site such as scotttrade where the trading price is around 7 dollars a trade with no minimum.

Best of luck...

PS ~ I believe the trick is to buy low sell high

+1. They are a decent outfit for someone who does not invest a lot and does not trade too often.

I'm down about 52% over the past 52 weeks.
