Jay said before season in an interview that this was the best overall pitching staff he has had at LSU.

He doesn’t exactly have a minor league he can pull from mid-season when guys need to be demoted.

He was anticipating the starting pitching to be solid but a step down from the elite arms we've had the past few seasons and for the bullpen to be less of a disaster.
He was half right.
