Anyone have cataract surgery/lens replacement?

Despite being under 50, I have recently learned that my vision issues are from cataracts. So I’ll be getting the surgery and lens replacements and trying to figure out what lenses to go with. It seems like multifocal lenses would be ideal for my age but concerned I won’t be able to see the golf ball land (which I haven’t for quite a while) and then there’s nothing they can do to correct for distance. Conversely I could get monofocal lenses for distance and likely have very clear distance vision but would guarantee I’d have to have reading glasses everywhere I go. And according to my doctor I could do multifocal in one eye and monofocal for distance in my dominant eye.
Anybody go through this and have insight on your results?

Getting ready to hit Medicare and that is the first appointment that I am scheduling.

Maybe my experiences will help, and while I haven’t experienced cataract surgery, I can speak of multi-focal contacts and they are fantastic! I’m right eye dominant so Doc set up right eye for close, left eye for distant.
