Overseeding Chicory

I have a 3 acre plot that was planted in chicory last fall. It came up well, but not as thick as I would like. I have overseeded clover, but not chicory. Interested to see if y'all have tried to overseeding chicory, and what were the results? I was gonna spray Arrest this week before seeding. Thanks.

I’ve had success with overseeding chicory into chicory and clover plots. I try to do it right before a decent rain. The seed is small so a good rain gives it the seed to soil contact it needs. Have to remember Chicory acts more like a weed, so that helps with its establishment
In my experience, chicory really is a year two plant in a food plot, even more so than clover. If you can get the chicory going, it’s fantastic. One of the few food plot plants that can survive the dry hot spells we get here in the South.
