Yes I know it’s a tourist trap blah blah blah but we enjoy going there.
What are some out of the way areas to look for a cabin? Is Wears Valley a nice area? What other areas should we look at for a “secluded” cabin within a 30min drive to town? Thanks

Can anyone, on the planet, complain about the view in the AM on the west side?
Sevierville, where TN highways 469 and 496 crossed. Where we were stopped at railroad tracks, and I started at my dyslexic friend who was driving, knowing exactly what was going on in his head.
I'd try to stay somewhere with a little bit of elevation for the view, and a lot closer to town than 30m.
Look for realtors and property managers on LinkedIn. I know of at least one with a few properties.

Sevierville - close enough to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, yet also far enough away.
One caveat is Sevierville is much bigger than the little town. it completely engulfs the west side of pigeon forge all the way through Wear's Valley and down to Gatlinburg then goes all the way to the north where the actual town is. I prefer to stay on the west side in the Wear's Valley area just because it's more rustic, but it is further from pretty much everything. On that side it's actually easier to go to Maryville and do grocery shopping etc and not have to deal with Pigeon Forge.
