I only recently heard that Bradley's son is now the front man for the band. I listened to the two songs that have been released from the upcoming album and I gotta say, he sounds really good. We'll see if his songwriting skills are anywhere close to his father's, but I'm kinda looking forward to this. His voice is almost a carbon copy.

I remember seeing them with Rome and it just kinda felt like a cover band.
Part of Sublime’s appeal was that you believed Brad was authentic to the music he wrote. Just not the same with all these zoomers as the front man.

This is where I'm at with it. Good for Eric and Bud to have kept touring and it's a neat novelty that Jakob is fronting them now, but I'm not interested.
There is a documentary on youtube that features Jakob a bit, but it's mostly focused on Brad's friend Todd Zalkins and his recovery, The Long Way Back. It's interesting if you're a deep fan of that band/scene.

I feel the same way but this feels different, being that it's his son and he shares the same DNA. His dad's legacy obviously means a lot to him.

Agreed, but Jakob never knew Brad. Any more than Rome or anyone else.

There’s just something about when a band loses its frontperson. Some members can be replaced, but that’s almost always the death knell for me. Like another poster mentioned, it almost becomes karaoke at that point.
