"Activism is a way for useless people to feel important, even if the consequences of their activism are counterproductive for those they claim to be helping and damaging to the fabric of society as a whole."

Thomas Sowell, a leader of the black community

Not all activism is bad, not an absolute, but the application of the quote to modern day liberalism is a guaranteed

“Activism is a way for people who care deeply about specific societal concerns, public issues, collective actions, etc. to voice said concerns and / or promote change, regardless of whether or not I agree with them.”

-Me, just now.

That stated, other than voting I have never cared enough about anything specific to be an activist. I have never promoted, protested, boycotted, etc. anyone or anything.

That doesn’t make me better or worse than anyone else. It’s just a fact.

I have not read much from Thomas Sowell since my college poly sci classes. He made some sense to me back then.

Activism has become a way for petulant children to try to force society to implement their will in stead of the will of the majority.

It's the adult version of kicking and screaming.
