What’s the best method now days for picking up a few lawns in your own zip code?

Are you referring to getting work mowing lawns....your question isnt clear.
If so, I'd say 1. Join a neighborhood FB page or similar. There are always people looking for help.
And do you know why they are looking for help? Because their previous service flaked on them, which leads me to #2. SHOW UP AND BE ON TIME AND PROFESSIONAL WHEN CALLED. ALL THE TIME. EVERY TIME.
Its really that easy.

Tell the homeowner you'll do their lawn for free as a trial if they allow you to put up a yard sign in their yard for a week.
