Alamo Drafthouse Changing to Flix Brewhouse in 4 Texas Locations

…including the one in Katy that my family and I frequent.
Anyone familiar with this chain and how it compares to Alamo? We really enjoyed Alamo and are disappointed to see it go. Thought the food was a lot better than the other dine in type theaters we’d been to. Plus, they ran a lot of classics and special themed series like their time capsule, movie parties etc.

I went to Flix in El Paso once. less charm, but more options in food IMO.
I actually swore off ADH a couple of years ago when they mandated a 25% gratuity, but then came by and asked for a tip afterwards. I consider myself a pretty decent tipper, but a 25% upcharge that was not presented beforehand soured me forever.
ETA: before this, i was an ADH homer. when i travel for work, i'd always seek them out over AMC, Cinemark, etc.

I had read about that happening in other locations but they didn’t do that in Katy. That would have pissed me off as well.
