Saw it for the first time yesterday. I feel like this has aged shockingly well, even more so than some of the other more famous movies of that period.

I pretty much watched this back to back with Treasure of the Sierra Madre. And while Bogart’s descent in that movie is unparalleled, Key Largo fells like a more modern movie. Because Treasure still had a fair amount of “aww shucks” moments. Key Largo only ever ratchets up the tension every chance it can with a much bleaker outlook

One of the few Bogart staples I've never seen.

Incredible cast though.

It absolutely feels like an ensemble and not just a Bogart picture. The time that’s spent on some of the supporting characters is kinda shocking. It allows people to wallow in their desperation
