Anyone gone through this?

I’ve got a feeling it’s gonna be on my 2026 Bingo card.

What can you tell me about your experience? Recovery? Length of time? Long terms side effects? Etc.

This was my post (below) from a couple of year ago. I have been very happy with my surgery. Frequent urination is eliminated completely. Still get up to pee once or twice at night. Sex is good. Overall, I couldn't be happier. If you have specific questions, I'll be glad to answer.

65 years old - been dealing with enlarged prostate for several years. Decided to get the surgery to help relieve the frequent urination and weak stream.

They were several options, TURP, Urolift and some others. Aquablation is less invasive with quicker healing and it last 10 years. Some of the others last 5 years.

The procedure goes thru your penis into your prostate and pressure washes a donut hole thru your prostate. With an enlarged prostate your urethra is constricted and it makes peeing painful and often unproductive.

I have my 2 week post surgery follow up tomorrow. I am peeing much easier and forceful. I've been in the "don't do anything strenuous" phase since surgery and hope to get cleared to resume normal activity. No sex either for the last 2 weeks, really haven't felt like it. I'm anxious to go out beer drinking and see if I can make it home without it being a photo finish.

Hey, thanks. This is encouraging. I suspect I’m heading down this road. But first, I gotta get through an MRI. PSA came back high (5.9) and gotta rule out “problems”.

When you were deal with BPH did you have a spike in your PSA?

Didn’t work for me,prostate tissue and blood clots kept me stopped up. I couldn’t get off of the catheter. Three months later I had a TURP done. I usually get up once sometimes twice during the night, not peeing like I hoped, at least no catheter. Good luck!!

Yes, Barrister, PSA was bouncing around in the high end of the normal range for years. Then it shot up.
