The shitty effort is from Frank Wilson. Punting late in the 4th, and waiting those timeouts at the end of the game..

LSU had all their stars out on defense and Houston had 0 opts outs on top of being a better team. LSU was still competitive down to the dropped onside kick that could've won them the game. Can't ask for anything more outside a win in an exhibition game.
