Who Started This Chant??

Were we the first ones to use the chant LSU LSU LSU? And when did we start using it? Seems like the first time I heard it was in The Box back in the Skip Bertman era. Did we get it from the Olympics.........USA, USA?

The reason I ask is because last year I heard Florida State use it at a football game....FSU, FSU. And the other night as Arizona State was upsetting UCLA in basketball, at the end of the game, they were chanting.....ASU, ASU.
