LSU will be the most watched team next year due to Lane
Baker having our defense humming in front of a national audience every week is better than the risk of going to Tulane. He will get display his abilities on a national stage every week and land a better head job after next year

He’ll have plenty of time to be a head coach in the future. Hang around Baton Rouge for a while, let your kids have some stability in their school life, then make the jump to HC when a good enough school comes calling.

Baker’s guaranteed to field another top defense next year. He’s not guaranteed to win 10 games at Tulane being his 1st try as a head coach. If you want to be a head coach in the SEC or good power 4 school, staying at LSU for another year or 2 is a smarter decision.

Do you go the Dave Aranda route (P4 DC to P4 HC)... or the Sumrall route (G5 HC to P4 HC)???
Both paths can be successful. Both can have pitfalls/drawbacks. Which do you choose?
I gotta think, while G5 can offer HC experience, the talent drop-off/resources could potentially make your time there feel like a prison sentence. Then again, Sumrall will make almost twice as much dough as Aranda will this year, if you can pull off a successful G5 stint. But the pressure on an inexperienced P4 DC to HC newbie can potentially end in disaster. Then again, G5 HC's like Napier can fail under P4 pressure.
