Anyone ever done this to haul a truck? Needing a tandem axle, 22-24' that will haul a 3/4 - 1Ton type truck (probably 7K lbs).

Would order bumper pull, but gooseneck may cab work as well.

Any tips are appreciated

I rented one from north shore trailer to go pick up a land cruiser in Sarasota. Pretty painless, the mechanic gave me an extra spare, a bearing and they put an air tag on it and turned me loose.

Was it Uhaul? And did you just go pick it up on the yard or did you have to schedule it ahead of time?

It wasn't uhaul, I went to North shore trailer and rented a 20' car hauler. I called ahead for the time I wanted it, booked it and went in to grab. Very easy

I used velocity rentals last year to pick up a square body GMC.
They are in Gonzales. Trailer had brakes, ramps, winch and plenty of heavy duty ratchet straps.

You have to register with them, but after that you can book a trailer any time on short notice.

There’s a website called Neighbors Trailer where individuals rent out their trailers to other people locally. Usually cheaper than the trailer rental places but the individuals set their own prices. Worth checking out imo.
