Went to turn on the light and it came on for a second then off... so i figured damn...bulb burnt out. Changed it and still nothing...upon inspecting original bulb it doesnt look burnt out. Breaker does not seem to be tripped and the vent in the same fixture works fine... what could be going on here?

ETA: issue fixed... it was the bulb socket snd plug that went bad. Went by home depot and got part to assemble a new one. Tell tale was I plugged vent motor into light socket and it worked fine.

Dumbass move of the fix: I lost the nut that felt the entire housing in and had to get the bolt out and bring it to a second home depott trip just to find a new nut

I have the same issue but haven't pulled it down to take a look. My guess is the socket went bad. I have swapped out working bulbs to cross that off the list. Heater and vent work just fine

The light switch itself... would this make sense if it turned the bulb on originally but then the bulb shut off

In Panasonic units the light, fan, and heater each have a separate wall switch. Check switches 1st. If the problem is in the unit, it's probably modular and each part can be unscrewed unplugged and swapped out. Annoying part is that there is lots of sharp sheet metal edges. Wear gloves.

Any chance it is connected down the line to a GFCI plug? I ran into a similar issue swapping out an old fan to a fan/light combo earlier this year. Long story, but the electrician that did the wiring for the original fan when we did some renovations work had put it on the same circuit as a couple of plugs in the kitchen right next to the bathroom, and when I flipped the switch back on after wiring in the new fixture, it would come on for a second or two then trip the GFCI plug that is next to my kitchen sink.

First thing I would do is to try yet another light bulb that you know works.

While this is possible, I doubt it. I do have a GCFI that is perpetually tripped that has been the case for months and this is a new issue. Also as mentioned the switch for the fan works fine but the switch right next to it for the light does not... I would think both switches are wired to same thing?

Thank you!. Im dumb when it comes to being handy. Did you have to take the whole thing down and disconnect completely?

The good thing was at certain point once I removed the house it was just plugs and outlets. So all I had to do was but an unwind plug and a bulb socket, wire them together which is easy then plug it in where the old one way...truley not hard at least not for my set up
