Verge hires then is not the not the AD …

Then the next AD is not responsible for the hire and is off the hook. Doesn’t matter to me but that might be by design. ???????

As much as I've been disgusted by this process, I've wondered the same thing. Maybe the AD job is more attractive if you don't have to start it shackled to a new head coaching hire? I don't know. I do know the head coaching job is less attractive if the AD is not shackled to you.

I’m not sure our fanbase is rational enough for it to matter.

It's unattractive to both. If you're the AD you're inheriting a guy at the beginning of his tenure so you're not even close to picking your own guy.

Not everything is steeped in subterfuge. I’m willing to take this as it seems until there is some real reason not to.
