Will he protect our taxpayer dollars by cutting athletic programs from our state schools that operate at a deficit and have to take money from the school to pay the bills? Looks like ULL,ULM, LaTech, NWst, McNeese combined for about a 25 million shortfall in 2024.

I agree, let's shut down all public-school sports programs that don't make a profit at all levels! Sounds great what could go wrong...

It's one thing to say that you have a University that has enough profit to keep the whole athletic department from operating in the red. But when the others operate in the red ink area, ask yourself what is their function? Teaching or sports? Add in the fact that the State of Louisiana has some severe budget issues and has never been known to be cash rich, well it is quite simple. Time for some cuts or severe belt tightening.. I say this as a USL graduate from 1973.

The irony here is that Landry is mouthing in whataboutisms with regard to LSU contract when in his self proclaimed “I deal in the world of reality” there is actual tax money propping up all the other state schools. Can’t believe in all the interviews this week our press didn’t bring this up.
