Buyouts

Think about the concept… The common thought is that if a buyout is too high, schools aren’t willing to pay them… But if you think about it, then that is basically the school saying “we guarantee that this person will be successful. We don’t care how high the buyout is because we’ll never have to pay it because this person is going to definitely not be fired within a timeframe that would trigger a significant buyout.” There’s no way that they go into that contract with that thought. Especially with the climate of college football these days where coaches have a very limited window to win. I’m of the belief that schools are very much willing to pay a buyout when it is at least halfway through the terms of the contract if necessary. Which is where we are right now. I don’t think it’s as out of the question as some people may be making it out to be.

school should reduce the "buyout" by $1 to $2MM for every loss
14 losses since you started?
thats $14 - 28MM I dont have to pay you to GTFO

Honestly these insane buyouts make me think the ADs are getting kick backs

Coaching contracts going forward should all be incentive based for winning with meager buyouts. The university athletic departments could all come together and make this happen during an era where funds are more needed for player acquisition rather than failed coaching buyouts.
