I think he was dumped because there was a genuine fear that he wouldn't be on the field due to academics, and Randle is a much bigger catch without that problem. Risking losing Randle over Benton was not a good gamble.

Good call by the Hat IMO.

I'd have to agree with this. Regardless of which one turns out to be better, this was the right decision.

I think you're right on the academic risk side of it. That's the bottom line. However, I still don't like recruits dictating recruiting conditions to coaches.

I just caught some of the interview, but did R.R. really say what amounts to that he wasn't going to LSU if Benton was there????
