As most of you know, the Saints personnel department is divided in half. One led by Jeff Ireland who runs college scouting and the other half run by Michael Parenton (formerly Terry Fontenot who is now the GM of ATL) who runs the pro personnel department. Both report to Mickey.

I've seen so much toxicity about the drafting side of the equation which I agree has their share of struggles specifically with Ruiz, Davenport and Foskey. However, they also picked McCoy, AK, Banks, Michael Thomas, Olave, Alontae, Granderson, found Rasheed, etc.

Where is the accountability on the other side of the equation with who we've chosen to keep, like Davenport, vs those we've let go...Hendrickson, Baun, Anzalone, etc who have gone on to have amazing careers with other teams. I say this after watching Al Quadin Muhammad record multiple sacks for the Lions on MNF who was a 6th round pick for us.

I would say our drafting is actually much better than than our personnel department. It says a lot that many of our former coaches including Sean Payton and Dan Campbell continue to mine our team for former draft picks and UDFA's.

We produced like 3 starters in 5 drafts. It is time to clean house on the college side. Ireland is living off of the 2017 draft.

Have we proved that we can develop players?
