Looking to set up a day for my wife & daughter somewhere for maybe a "half-day" horseback ride. Within 1-2 hr drive preferably. So maybe anywhere from Alexandria area into Hattiesburg/SoMiss area.

Thought this might be a good board to ask.

Brushy Creek Ranch near Gloster MS does this. Not sure, but you can also try the Just Ride camp on the other side of the Homochitto Nat'l forest.

That part of the Homochitto is dedicated to trail riding.

Frazier's Homestead in Baker LA does rides. Beautiful pastures and oak bottomland along the Comite river.
