From the Wall Street Journal...

Garrett Nussmeier may be the best quarterback in all of college football. He’s at the helm of the No. 3 LSU Tigers, he’s the betting favorite to win the Heisman Trophy and he’s a leading candidate to be the No. 1 pick in next year’s NFL draft.
But Nussmeier took an unusual path to becoming one of the most important players in the country. He sat on LSU’s bench…and sat, and sat, and then sat some more.
In an era when promising passers switch schools every offseason for a chance to get on the field and show their stuff, Nussmeier, 23, has spent the majority of his time at LSU collecting dust on the bench. Over his first three seasons with the Tigers, he started exactly once.

Would be nice if he made some kind of journey in the last year but seems like the same guy we saw who threw games away and pulled off 2 lucky wins that should’ve been losses against OM and USCe
I don’t get the love fest for Nuss. If he doesn’t show some improvement in SEC play we are screwed. These people aren’t watching the games.

Damn....I didn't see that Astonvilla already posted this. Sorry for the duplication....

What kind of journey did you make? I dont get the hate for the kid. Calling the OM and USCe lucky while not adding the fact our defense gave us losses that should have been wins( A&M, FL where we literally dominated them). He threw for 4000+ yards with no run game and a defense that was not very good. He played pretty solid against Clemson in a first game on the road against a pretty good defense. La Tech with his center gone after the first snap was trouble. He didn't have much of a run game. The offense as a whole just looks meh. Let's see how this game vs Florida goes. Offenses typically improve as the season goes on. Cut the kid some slack in such a small sample of games this year with a brand new Oline and Wr's.

Do you actually think we had a good team last year? We relied on Nuss' arm all last year with no deep shot for majority of the season and you think he threw the games? So when the defense couldn't stop anybody against Bama or the Aggies in the second half thats his fault? When the offensive line couldn't get a push in the run game that is his fault?
Nuss was not perfect but we literally had to rely on him to methodically dice up defenses with little to no running game and no vertical threat in the passing game. If he wasn't perfect we lost, like idk how you would expect anyone to perform with that in their first year as the starter. Good grief.
