Got a work trip to Chicago next week and I will be staying near the airport. Any recommendations on good public courses around there?

You’ll have to drive a little bit as there’s nothing quality and publicly available near the airport.
Cantigny (Woodside / Lakeside) or Cog Hill (#2 or #4) are both 30 minutes or so depending on traffic. Really like both those places. Dubsdread is one of my absolute favorites anywhere. Such a fun course and lots of history.

Monkey is correct go to Cog Hill. They have like 4 or 5 courses and you do not have to get on the one they played the Western on for years.
