Much has been made of Tom Verducci's book The Yankee Years, scheduled to be released Feb. 3rd. There have already been several snippets of the book that have come out. This one is on how Clemens would prepare for starts.
Verducci writes that Clemens’ usual pregame preparation included taking a whirlpool bath at the hottest temperature possible. “He’d come out looking like a lobster,” Yankee trainer Steve Donahue told Verducci. Donahue would then rub hot liniment (hot balm) all over Clemens’ body. “Then Donahue would rub the hottest possible liniment on his testicles. He’d start snorting like a bull,” the trainer said. “That’s when he was ready to pitch.”
Think I'm going to start my morning off like this from now on.....that way I'll be wide awake, energetic and ready to hit the ground running.

It says later in the book he would rub him to climax and then towel him off.
