Texas Floods Death toll passes 100 people, 11 missing from summer camp

It's tragic. We were just there for most of the month of May. We camped and visited just about every town and city that you are seeing in the reports. You keep hearing about a lot of people didn't get warnings when records show that watches and warnings did go out. The wife and I were talking about that and a couple of things that we haven't heard as a possibility is cell coverage and complacency. While we were at Garner State Park, which is on the Frio River, because we have Verizon, we had absolutely no cell service. AT&T was the only carrier that worked. So, if this situation had happened while we were there, would we have been warned? I don't know. Also, while we camped in Ingram, TX, we got multiple severe thunderstorm warnings on our phones, but the owner of the campground told us that where they were located, the storms always break up and go around them. We weren't far from Hunt, Tx. So, does complacency set in? Is it kind of like us with hurricanes when so many of them miss us, we just get used to it and figure that we'll be alright for the next one until we're not?
