Do I need a screen protector for the Apple Watch? I have Apple care.

I don’t even bring it to the gym. I’d rather not get sweat all over it. I’d say a year from now that’ll be different.

If you need one for your phone, then yes, but the real answer is still no.

The screen is the last place you worry about sweat. See that little elongated hole on the left side where sweat can intrude?

In reality, you don't need one at all. The bottom is going to get so disgusting with your dead skin every day/week that sweat will be the last thing you'll worry about.

Not sure what version you have, but all Apple watches after series 2 (2016) are water resistant down to 50m. So, sweat isn't a problem, really. I guess it could mean cleaning it more frequently, but it's not a danger to the watch. As far as the screen goes, the glass is pretty hard to damage. Normal gym workout stuff won't hurt it. I worked out about 6 days a week with my series 6 for 3 years and my ultra 2 for the last 5 months with no damage at all.

The one time I've damaged the screen of an Apple watch in the 10+ years I've had one: I tripped over the bed retention cable of a tailgate in a lifted truck in the dark, and landed arm first on the asphalt.

I have this one for my Ultra. I didn't have one on my Series 7, and it did get a light scratch on the screen, but I had it for 3 years and wasn't super careful with it. I also get mine plenty sweaty working out, swim in it etc. I never could get the screen protectors to stay on that long with the curved face on the older watches, but with the all flat surface on the Ultra it has been easier.

We've had about 7 or 8 different apple watches between myself, wife, and teenager, and the only time one got a cracked screen was when it fell out of a locker at school onto a tile floor. They're pretty durable with normal use, and obviously falling 6 feet and landing face down on tile isn't normal use.
