Has anyone here ever belonged to or know anyone that belonged to Shepherd Fishing Club near Lafayette.
I’ve been there a couple times to buy fingerling bream and fathead minnows to stock our new pond.Wife and I went there this morning to buy fingerling bass.
Seems like a pretty cool place, the small lake looks very nice.

$5500 for membership but it seems like it might be worth it if one lived close enough and the fishing was good.Wouldn’t need an outboard for a boat and all that entails.

My wife really liked it ,she was telling me I should join to try it.Not likely I would since it’s 2 hours from where I live in Grant Parish, besides I’ve got so much work to do keeping up our property where we live.

There are some crazy arse drivers on I-49,it was pouring down rain coming back and people were passing us doing 80-85 mph,saw 2 cars and a pickup that had lost control and ran off the road.

Man, I have always thought I would like to be a fishing club because you can fish so much more time than you can hunt. I-49 is the easiest interstate in Louisiana to drive because there in never much traffic on it and the speed limit is 75 MPH.

Not to answer your question about their membership. Although, I use Dunns Fish Farm for stocking. They travel around and may go near you. Very nice and the prices are good.

This place used to be pretty good in Centerpoint, and may be closer for you. I used to be a member. I am not sure it’s still open or what the quality is currently as it’s been several years, but the website is still up.

I belonged to it probably about 15 years ago. Caught a lot of bass from the bank. Of course it was less expensive that long ago. I remember it being about $2,000-$2,500 per year but I bought a summertime membership for 3 months and think I paid $500. We always had a good time there. Caught lots of bass and large bream. They also had a small catfish pond with some big ones. But my kids are grown and it’s kind of out of my price range now.
