It’s fantastic if you like anime or video games.

My son begged me to watch season 1 with him during the holidays and I finally did. I enjoyed it. He’s an aspiring YouTube star so now he has me watching every Saturday when they release an episode and we make terrible reaction videos.

Season 2 finale is Saturday I believe.

I used to love grinding it out on Final Fantasy games back in the day so I enjoy that aspect. Jinwoo is a bit OP but that’s the point. The raid on Ant island was intense and where last episode left off was very interesting.

I enjoyed it. The art is great. I finished up the Manwha the other day and started on the second one Solo Leveling: Ragnarok which is about Jin Woo and Cha Hae In's son.

Given the material available: I think we get 4 seasons to wrap up the main story and then 1 for the epilogue (maybe a movie) because the epilogue is its own unique story that's a little more slice of life but equally good.

Starting to get back into anime a bit. Finished Chainsaw Man a couple weeks ago and loved it. Started JuJutsu Kaisen this week, it’s nothing ground breaking but enjoying it so far

I think what sets solo leveling apart from the other crop of anime is that it does one thing and does it exceptionally well. That thing is "be cool". The characters (Jin Woo especially) are just cool. Backstory and world building is secondary to making the main and secondary characters just look cool and do cool things. The art and direction is top notch in my opinion, but if you're looking for an anime that is nuanced and subtle, this ain't for you.

This is a straight forward power fantasy with an OP main character. It's kind of refreshing because the anime genre has been missing that for a couple of years.

It'll be even more interesting if they get around to introducing the American heroes. They are almost as OP as the main character, and one of them has an ability no other hero on Earth has, one that makes the US ridiculously strong. And since it's a South Korean and not Japanese anime, the Yankees aren't the bad guys.

Yeah. Next season should be the Conference of Hunters where they introduce Thomas Andre and Ms Selner.

Well, that was an underwhelming season finale. It was more a coda than a season finale, which is fine, but they cut A LOT out from the Manwha. A LOT!

Maybe it will be featured some in flashbacks next season. Oh well, see y'all next year. I'm running out of current anime to watch. MF Ghost is next year, Delicious in Dungeon is next year, Frieren is January. Guess it's time to go into the back catalog.
