I always get La Fonda and El Rio Grande confused

Rio Grande is Mexican-owned, the small place closer to Florida Blvd. They used to claim to be the oldest Mexican restaurant in BR, though La Fonda might be. Rio Grande's strong point is that they make everything from scratch, it was owned by a father who eventually let his son manage it. I haven't eaten there in years, though I keep in touch with the owner.

La Fonda is owned by the Greek family that grew up in Mexico. I stopped by there one time, but wasn't feeling the vibe too much and left (nobody was eating, there were only a bunch of really old people at the bar).

Nobody ever mentions the food at Rio Grande to me, nor La Fonda, so I don't have much of a reason to go to either.
