How awesome would it be to be an ICE agent right now? Think of how they had the left wing foot on their neck the past 4 years. Watching the country be over run and couldn't do anything. They have been turned loose to do what they are supposed to do. Bet it feels great!

quote:yes, agree it is probably huge for their morale. Going to be great for them in the next fricked up Continuing Resolution too.

But their job is going to get incrementally tougher and riskier over the next couple months. The actual gangs are going to organize and IF (big if) they can make agreements with the mexican cartels their intelligence will be great. I'm not saying they will win, it's just going to make these raids much more riskier.
For the non-gang illegals their will be a certain per cent of them that don't self-deport that will decide they're going to resist violently. they will convince themselves that they have nothing to lose. And a % of them will join/be recruited by the gangs adding to the ranks of prepared and organized.
DHS/ICE's biggest risk, other than to life and limb, will be that they raids and enforcement actions will become more 'forceful'- more men, more gear, more show of force- in response to the increased risk which may, possibly, start causing the current public support to erode.
I will say this: at least ICE makes it a practice to nab them out of the home instead of like these other cops, FBI, and especially ATF where they intentionally wait till they are home and asleep creating a riskier scenario for everybody. Just wait till the fricker goes to starbucks alone, not while he's in bed with his wife and a shotgun nearby.
