Official Rueben Randle Thread - TOMORROW IS NSD!!

Is there any way on earth that we can keep Randle stuff in this thread?

That way we can quash rumors, personal attacks, and keep any legitimate info flowing to the masses and clean up the board a bit.

Is that possible? We shall see.

Try to keep the discussion civil if someone posts in here (even if it's been covered many many times). I'll try and police it and I'm not afraid to RA if someone starts attacking the family or the recruit.

I'll keep the countdown going in the title and let's see how this goes! We've got potential and I'm hoping it eliminates the headaches. Someone want to do a "serious" rundown of what we know or what has been said about the Randle recruitment (as little as that is)? I'd be glad to edit that at the top here.

If someone else starts a thread, politely point them to the top here and RA it as a double post or spam or whatnot.

Here is what we know about Randle's recruitment. Feel free to interject your own thoughts about what we know.

*First, generally speaking we know very little because the Randle family is very quiet about his recruitment.

*The best way I can read it right now is that it's probably LSU with a solid advantage followed by Oklahoma and Alabama

*Oklahoma received an official visit (11/22/2008 for the Texas Tech game). He visited Alabama this past weekend (1/16-1/18). He visited LSU the weekend of Jan. 23 with his parents and older brother. All reports are that the visit was what it needed to be. He hung out with the players and the family met with coaches and coaches' families. The comfort level is definately there and it looks like we're pulling away on this and sealing the deal.....but it's not done yet. We will have to continue to cross the t's.

*He has taken a handful (4-5) of unofficial visits to Baton Rouge, 1-2 to Alabama and 1 to Miami. He has not taken any unofficial visits to Oklahoma that I am aware of or remember.

*It sounds like his official visit to Bama went well but Bama does not feel very good about him at this point. That's from the premium board but I won't say specifically where on there cuz it is premium. Take it for what it's worth.

*Seems his official to LSU was exactly what it needed to be to reel him in.

*Saban was the first coach to do an in-home visit away from the Bama campus. Then Les Miles did about 2-3 weeks ago. I didn't hear a report on Saban's visit but Miles' visit went "awesome." Stoops had his in-home Jan. 29 which according to a Tulsa newspaper was an attempt to convince him not to sign with LSU.

*Randle's brother posts here (or he used to more often when this board was more rational). His name is dmitch and he's a great poster.

*All we can tell is that he wants to go somewhere where he can make an impact right away (he has that opportunity at all of the schools he's intereted in).

*He also has stated that he doesn't want to be the ONLY guy they have to throw the ball to. He doesn't want all of the pressure and expectation on him. (Ya'll can debate which school gives him that best opportunity).

*Most anything you will hear about Randle is a rumor because he's just that quiet. But the Bama message boards (like this one at times) like to start rumors that will send people into a frenzy.

*The word is that Randle truly has not decided where he wants to go and has not made a decision. He will likely announce on National Signing Day (Feb. 4).

*Bastrop Coach Bradshaw apparently said in a tv interview that it will take a little while to "learn Crowton and Miles scheme." Slip of the tongue maybe but I'd say it shows which was he is leaning. Video is here on WAFB You may have to scroll down.
