Booty's ALL SEC was the biggest joke of all time. I'd have to do some research, but either it was the media or the coaches voted him that. The other side sat back and couldn't quite understand it. Wait, I am sorry. Didn't we win the SEC title & a BCS bowl the first year Rohan got the sp? Josh Booty was horrid. When Saban finally said to heck with the politics of Evangel, and played Rohan in the PEACH BOWL, (ha a sign?) we set records in the passing game. Does the 500 YARD PERFORMANCE AGAINST BAMA ring a bell?

It was the coaches. He had a 4-2 record in SEC starts, beat Bama in Tiger Stadium for the first time in forever with a 4 TD/0 INT performance and won 4 straight SEC games (first since Hodson, if not Jones, to do that).

Yes, and we might have if Rohan hadn't been hurt in 2000. But this isn't about how great Rohan was. This is about Booty.

You think Saban was benching Rohan because of some bullshite with Evangel?

Rohan was injured all season. Florida aggravated it and he should have been done for the season. He came back in the Peach because we were struggling and Brad Smalling had given up a bajillion sacks of Booty. So they put Brandon Winey back in to protect the QB, so they could put Rohan back in (still somewhat gimpy). With protection from the OT and Rohan at QB, we kicked arse. And that still has nothing to do with whether or not Booty was "garbage."

Objectively speaking, there is an absurd absence of evidence to support such a ridiculous claim. He was an All-SEC QB with a 120+ passer rating (which is neither great nor "garbage") who won a bunch of games for us in 2000 when he finally had a chance to play for a coach with some success. He was nowhere near what Rohan was, which is why he left early and was drafted into the pros. But I guess all "garbage" QBs get drafted, right?
