The LSU brand name carries over into academics as well. I went to grad school at LSU and among my fellow students and profs we always refered to us and to others as LSU and other students and profs at other schools most of the time used the term LSU.

The "Louisiana State" Basketball jerseys during the Rudy Macklin era were awesome IMO

And then there was the girls basketball team from Pembroke Middle School in Florida. They came on to the court with the initials on their unis and got laughed at.
