depending on what action, certain things seem to come at you

in friday the 13th 3d he shoots an arrow and from the audience point of view it looks as if its coming at you.

so to answer your first question, some parts yes. To answer your second question, eh its a nice affect which makes it experience better. Doesn't necessarily make the movie better.

its like surround sound and imax. It makes the experience better not the movie.

What gets me about 3D movies most of all is when they pull a super cheesy shot geared at taking "advantage" of it.

honestly isn't that every 3D shot in movies? Its just a simple way to make you go wow, nothing spectacular and significantly adds nothing to the movie.

Jaws 3D, jaws coming through the "underwater control room" Cheesy affect to make you seem like you are there

Freddy's Dead: the final nightmare. The demons at the end, and then again when they explode out freddy over and over, just a cheesy way of showing them coming at you.

the before said friday the 13th.

and i'm guessing what started this thread my bloody valentine. The axe and flames coming at you.

When you put a movie in 3D you are forced to put something in it that warrants the use of it. You need those shots for 3D or else it would be useless.

im waiting on the 4D movies like at disney world. Where the seats interact with the movie.
