many of us were in New Orleans to see LSU claim its first national championship in football in 45 years.

Got a little nervous in the fourth quarter, but it was just great in the end. I believe it was on a Sunday night as well.

Nuts4LSU is right, it was 5 years ago tonight. Six years ago would have been the end of the 2002 season, a beatdown in the Cotton Bowl on Jan 1, 2003. The Sugar Bowl NC was Jan 4, 2004.

It was a Sunday. Made the game and flew home to S'port that night to make school on that Monday b/c I had a basketball game. If you miss school you can't play. You gotta do what you gotta do.

It was a LONG arse day, I remember that. I didn't think that kickoff would every come that night. If you are an old-timer like me, you wondered when, or if you would ever get to see an LSU NC, and now I have seen 2 in 5 years!

I still can't believe that achievement. It came out of nowhere and seemed just too unreal. I remember just sitting there at home in disbelief when the clock ran out.
